Wireless Broadband Onboard.

After ADR Communications installed one of there ineedbroadband.co.uk wireless broadband transmitters in the Holiday Inn castle marina (story below) they started to attract a great deal of interest from the near by Castle marina.

ADR Communications being not one to miss a trick , approached the marina owners and asked if they could install a wireless transmitter on the grounds of the marina, this would give a greater signal in the marina, thus meaning that users on some of 90 narrow boats that are resident in the marina could use there wireless laptops and wifi devices with out the need of any external antennas.

Ineedbroadband are providing high speed broadband in to the marina from £11:99 with speeds up to 1.5Mb with 4Mb to come. Some of the user are now using ADR Communications VOIP (voice over ip) www.iphonica.co.uk telephone service via a small wireless adaptor and and analogue telephone adaptor, to make Free local calls to other users and discounted national and international calls.

White Meadows Upholstery Go Wireless

In March ADR Communications were asked to provide a solution for one of the UK's largest Upholstery manufactures.

White Meadows Upholstery are based at Huthwait in North Nottingham and are manufactures of high quality fabric and leather 3 piece suites, with customers like DFS, and more.

Scope: White Meadows faced a loss of ADSL service from a local wireless dsl service provider that was due the cease trading. This left white meadows with no internet access at there main office site and one of there remote offices on the same industrial estate, White Meadows also ran VPN connections between there mains sites and two other sites located 2 and four miles away. Oh what a head ache for the IT management team.

ADR Communications, where brought in to solve this problem. After meeting with the White Meadows IT team, ADR Communications would come up with a system that would solve the loss of ADSL and make the old VPN connections a thing of the past. ADR Communications set to work  running propagation plots to find out which wireless solution would benefit them most. After a few days ADR Communications, came up with a system that would not only offer speeds up to 54Mb Asynchronous with speeds dropping to 32Mb with Synchronous transactions, this system would link all three sites over four miles, forming a wide area network for White Meadows.

How did we solve the ADSL problem? White Meadows had a remote site located on the other side of the town, which was to be incorporated in to the new wireless WAN, this site would simply become the new gateway for all internet traffic. Not only have White Meadows saved in them self's thousands in ADSL cost's, but they have gained a whole wireless WAN that will give fast file transfer between offices that would have normally taken much more time over the old 256k VPN.

This solution was carried out with a Alvarion 5.8Ghz  wireless point-to-multipoint system, this system can be tailored to distances of 18Km and can handle up to 20 subscriber units or Offices from one base station. If you would like to know how this solution can help you, then please e-mail us or call 0871 2882106.

 Hotel exterior

Wireless access for Holiday Inn guests

ADR Communications has recently been commissioned by the Quinn Group, to totally re-cable the Holiday Inn Castle Marina Nottingham. The scope was to re-cable every floor in the hotel, in preparation for a major phone system transfer during the 5.1/2 a million pound refit.  Using CAT5 technology and a bank of voice patch's will give the hotel a greater flexibility when moving telephone lines, computers and tills within the building, using a system like this also has cash saving benefits "no engineer required to move lines".

The refit has also incorporated ADR Communications very own Wireless Broadband Service "ineedbroadband.co.uk", this service is  widely available over the county of Nottinghamshire and is now providing high speed internet access for guest and conference room users in the Holiday Inn hotel.

Guests in the hotel, can gain access to the Ineedbroadband network by purchasing an eight hour ticketed service within the hotel. Using standard 802.11b wifi connecting to the internet could not be easier. The Hotel is also home to a second ineedbroadband transmitter, that is located on the roof of the building, this transmitter gives wireless broadband service to nearby builds such a McDonalds, Pizza hut and Costa Coffee. The transmitter also has an excellent  coverage up to 3.5miles over the nearby Castle marina area. This means that ineedbroadband can for the first time, provide a wireless broadband and VOIP service to users on nearby house boats in the marina. For more information on our VOIP service click here.

VOIP Is the word!

In July ADR Communications where asked to commission a unique data and voice solution for a major Nottingham Building contracts company. The scope was to provide a seamless connection between the main office and there new office located a quarter of a mile away. Andrew the IT manager had specified to the main IT contractor that they did not want to get in to high cost leased lines for this solution. The main IT contractor then called upon ADR Communications to find a solid work around. The Solution was to use wireless technology to provide the main data backhaul and to run a four line VOIP solution to link there two existing PABX telephone systems together. This solution gave the added benefit that no leased lines where require on a yearly retail basis, the two phones systems can share extensions, outgoing lines and both office have access to the file servers and internet (only one DSL circuit needed). Our clients has been so pleased with solution that they have asked ADR Communications to commission another link to there remote stores building, the stores has never had and connection to the clients data network nor a telephone that existed on the customers PABX, this solution should save hours of man time and external telephone cost.

YMCA Cut Broadband Cost's

Back in May 04 Adrian Robinson Technical director of ADR Communications, was asked a question by the IT Manager of the Nottingham YMCA. He asked if ADR Communications could come up with a work around to help speed up the order process time of a broadband installation from one or more of the major service providers, the service was required at a second YMCA site in Nottingham. The solution was not to help the YMCA get a standard broadband service in to the ICC centre, but to provide a complete wireless link from the YMCA's main building to the ICC centre. The solution gave the IT manager, complete control of the local and remote sites network, without the use of slow VPN's. By using this solution the  YMCA saved them self's around £1700 a year on having an extra business broadband service, by sharing their existing ADSL service in the main building. ADR Communications are now in discussions to provided VOIP telephone lines from the main site's phone system to the ICC centre, again reducing cost in the long term.
